About
AJ Kim is a global humanitarian, social entrepreneur, and meditator who bridges inner peace with social impact.
She was first ordained at the age of 18 by one of most respected Buddhist leaders, Venerable Pomnyun, where she served as a postulant for 3 years and completed intensive studies in Buddhist philosophy at Jungto Society (Buddhist University, Sutra Studies, both in 2008 and 2022) in South Korea.
She has also practiced in the Plum Village tradition in Thailand, deepening her training in mindfulness, engaged Buddhism, and community living.
More recently, AJ was ceremonially ordained by Venerable Jinkyung at Buddha Forest in Korea, where she practiced for three months in the Theravāda tradition rooted in Myanmar, immersing herself in early Buddhist and forest meditation practices.
AJ shares this unique blend of traditions and experiences through teaching, mindful leadership, and community projects across Asia, Africa, and North America—inviting participants to experience the depth of Buddhist wisdom and its relevance in today’s world.
