About the event
From Mental Wellbeing to Community Wellbeing
A Community Panel & Networking
Mental well-being isn’t just about how you feel. It’s shaped by culture, work, money, belonging, and community.
The Mindful Impact Community Forum is a space to explore what well-being really means today — beyond self-care, beyond burnout culture.
✨ What is this?
Mindful Impact Community Forum is a fresh, human-centred gathering for people who care deeply about mental wellbeing, community resilience, climate leadership, and social innovation.
It’s a space to think, feel, connect, and imagine together.
We’re bringing together social entrepreneurs, innovators, community leaders, scholars, youth changemakers, and wellbeing practitioners for an evening of meaningful conversations, practical insights, and real connection.
Come curious. Leave grounded.
Inner peace → community impact
In partnership with Futurpreneur Canada, 312 Main, Khora Architecture+Interiors, Kula Foods
Light refreshments will be served, featuring Egyptian delights by Super Dishes.

Why “Mental Wellbeing → Community Wellbeing”?
Because communities don’t thrive when people are burned out.
Because leadership without care isn’t sustainable.
Because climate action, entrepreneurship, and social change all start with human wellbeing.
This forum explores how inner resilience becomes collective strength — across leadership, climate action, diversity, and community building.
What to Expect
✨ Opening Remarks & Presentation
Paul Choi, MLA for Burnaby South–Metrotown, will open the evening with reflections on the importance of strengthening community wellbeing and leadership in times of uncertainty, bringing his experience as a first responder, lawyer, and community advocate.
A grounding and inspiring opening by AJ Kim (Wisdomway Impact) on why mental wellbeing is becoming the missing infrastructure of our communities — with insights from global fieldwork and real-world case studies.

She also serves on the board of the BC Apparel and Gear Association. FABCYCLE works directly with apparel manufacturers to redirect deadstock and textile waste back into the hands of makers, keeping usable materials in circulation instead of landfill. Sewjo is a SaaS platform designed to modernize sewing by helping hobby sewists organize their stash, track their projects, and connect in more meaningful ways. Both ventures focus on building the infrastructure and systems needed to support a more sustainable, connected, and resilient sewing community and economy.

Beyond her business, Asha is an advocate and mentor for BIPOC and newcomer entrepreneurs, supporting initiatives such as Flavours of Hope. Her work lives at the intersection of food systems, cultural identity, and community empowerment—building more inclusive and resilient futures through nourishment and shared experience.

Her work focuses on making complex ideas about sustainability and inclusive economies practical and actionable.

Flavours of Hope is a nonprofit social enterprise that supports newcomer women in launching food businesses through the Dream Cuisines program.
